Renovación de Solicitudes para DACA

Debido a una orden judicial a nivel nacional, el gobierno estará aceptando solicitudes de renovación de DACA a quien se les haya expirado sus solicitudes el 15 de Setiembre o despúes de esta fecha. El Legal Aid Justice Center estará abierto durante esta semana (sin previa cita) para aquellos que quieran renovar su solicitud de DACA.


Due to a recent nationwide injunction, the government will be accepting DACA renewal applications for anyone whose DACA expired on or after September 5th. The Legal Aid Justice Center will be open for walk-ins to renew DACA.

When: During weekdays
Time: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with exception of this Thursday (1/18/18) when LAJC will be open until 8 p.m.

Citizenship Preparation Classes

Literacy Volunteers of Charlottesville and Albemarle is sponsoring two citizenship preparation classes this spring.
The class for beginners will be held on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 - 12:00 and will begin on February 6, 2018.  The class for intermediate students will be on Wednesday mornings from 9:00 - 11:00 and begin on February 7, 2018.   
Both classes will be held at the Jefferson School City Center and will run for 12 weeks.

Winter Session at TJ ACE

Thomas Jefferson Adult and Career Education (TJ ACE)

Serves adults in the Charlottesville region including Albemarle, Charlottesville, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson Counties. Our goal is to provide quality services and convenient access to adult education. Through strong community partnerships, we strive to offer the best instruction to area adults in GED Preparation and English for Speakers of Other Languages—ESOL instruction

College and Career Readiness (CCR) Core Skills help you prepare for the GED plus a whole lot more! 

We will help you build core skills in reading, writing, math, science, social studies, computer and workplace skills needed for your next career step.  CCR Core Skills help you prepare for the GED, NEDP (National External Diploma Program), CRC (Career Readiness Certificate), VPT  (Va Placement Test) for college, and other workplace certifications.

The ESL session begins January 8th and ends March 29th. Open assessments will begin January 3rd through January 30th.

Please join us for our first Immigration Info Session of the year. The panelists, lawyers Tanishka Cruz, Eddie Summers, and Doug Ford will be answering your questions. Some of the topics that will be discussed are the following:
