Picnic Comunitario

Esta usted cordialmente invitado a el Picnic Comunitario donde estarán presentes los bomberos, el  departamento de Policía y más. Queremos que nos lleguen a conocer mejor como la gente trabajadora y de familia que somos. Habrá comida y entretenimiento para los niños.

Inscripciones para el Seguro Medico A.C.A./Obamacare

¿Está listo para Obamacare 2018? Las inscripciones para el seguro de salud ACA empiezan el 1ro de noviembre. Enroll Virginia ofrece ayuda gratuita en Legal Aid Justice Center. La inscripción abierta termina el 15 de diciembre. Todas las citas serán en: Legal Aid Justice Center.

CJ's Brown Bag Roundtable

Attend the CJ’s October Roundtable to network with other service providers, educators, non-profits, government agencies, businesses, and community members working with the Latino population. Share your Latino-oriented initiatives and services and discover new connections, solutions, and resources that benefit Latinos in and around Charlottesville.

5K Run/Walk for Shelter

To wrap up Domestic Violence Awareness Month the Shelter for Help in Emergency will hold its 21st annual 5K Run/Walk for the Shelter. Registration price $25. 

When: Saturday, November 4th, 2017

Time: 8 a.m.

Where: The run/walk begins on Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall.

Each participant receives a long sleeve cotton t-shirt and an opportunity to win one of our fabulous grab-bag prizes. 

Brown Bag Lunch Series

The brief educational presentations during the Lunch Bag series serve to highlight specific issues faced by domestic violence victims and their children. All are free and open to the public; we encourage you to bring your own lunch and take part in these informative discussions.

When: Each Wednesday during October

Time: 12 noon to 1 pm

Where: Shelter for Help in Emergency's Community Outreach Center.

 

Candlelight Vigil

Join the Shelter for Help in Emergency at the 27th annual Candlelight Vigil.

When: Monday, October 2nd, 2017

Time: 7pm

Where: Justice Park.

The Charlottesville Women’s Choir will be present to uplift and honor victims and survivors of domestic violence with their voices. A reading of names will take place for the 78 victims in our community who lost their lives to domestic violence since 1979.
