Food Pantries

  • Emergency Food Bank (EFB): 900 Harris Street, Charlottesville, 22903. You can call once a month at (434) 979-9180 between 9 a.m. to 12 noon, Monday through Friday to get a three-day supply of food for you and your family.The food needs to be picked up between 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m the same day you placed your order. If you have diabetes or another health condition or have a child or a special request you can ask a different staple food bag while placing your order.
  • Belmont Baptist Church: 830 Monticello Avenue, Charlottesville, 22902. (434) 296-7111. Opens Tuesdays through Fridays 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. 
  • Church of Our Saviour Episcopal: 1165 East Rio Road, Charlottesville, 22901. (434) 973-6512. Photo ID is required. Two-day supply once a month. Opens Mondays and Wednesdays, 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. and Fridays 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
  • Ebenezer Baptist Church: 113 Sixth Street NW, Charlottesville, 22903. (434) 296-7158. Opens the third Saturday of each month, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the white building next to the church. 
  • Hinton Avenue United Methodist Church: 750 Hinton Avenue, Charlottesville, 22902. (434) 293-7049. Call a day ahead of time to schedule your pickup. 
  • Holy Comforter Church: 208 East Jefferson Street, Charlottesville, 22902. (434) 293-8989. Provides food once a month, per family. Photo ID is required. Opens Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 10:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Thursdays 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Loaves and Fishes Pantry: 370 East Greenbrier Drive, Charlottesville, 22903. (434) 996-7868. Provides food once a month per family. Opens Saturdays 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesdays, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesdays, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Thursdays, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • New Beginnings Christian Community: 1130 East Market Street, Charlottesville, 22902. (434) 872-0800. Opens Saturdays, 12:00 p.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Thomas Jefferson Memorial Church: 717 Rugby Road, Charlottesville, 22903. (434) 293-8179. Picture ID is required. Opens the first Friday of each month, 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.


Food Delivery

  • Community Meals on Wheels: (434) 293-4364. Provides food to those unable to cook for themselves and do not have anyone to help assist them. Meals are delivered every Monday to Friday, including holidays that fall on weekdays. Charges based on income; reduced or waived fees for those eligible. 
  • Thomas Jefferson Area Food Bank: Reaching Elderly and Challenged Households (REACH Program). (434) 296-3663. Food boxes are delivered once a month to the elderly and disabled unable to drive.
  • JABA Home Delivered Meals: (434) 817-5222. Provides meals to people 60 years of age and older and to those who are incapacitated. Charges may apply (Based on income).
